DAY 2 TCM Film Festival: WINGS. There are no words for its awesomeness. I am changed because of it. Next, got a raw deal on RAW DEAL… didn’t get in. Consolation prize was Mae West in I’M NO ANGEL. 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA had surprisingly beautiful images. James Mason in beard equals HOT. Kirk Douglas introduced the film. Also: Giant squid. After that, watched VERTIGO for the first time. Mind blown. New top ten film, for sure. Personal hero, Mel Brooks, introducing YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN in the Egyptian: Epic. New top ten life moment, for sure. Finished with PHASE IV…. basically WTF. Saul Bass, you are crazy. DAY 2 success.

DAY 1 TCM Film Festival: Running late for red carpet, pantyhose issue. Still got to walk next to Liza getting her picture taken by a hundred photographers. Watched CABARET; it was beautiful. Walked out of Chinese Theatre right next to Michael York, Could have touched him, but didn’t. Watched CRISS CROSS, introduced by Eddie Muller. Burt Lancaster’s face was gorgeous. Almost fell asleep, but didn’t. Day 1 success.
